8/8/06 (10:45 am) - This morning they turned off the ventilator and just had it supplying pressure to the lungs and just now they removed it completely. Notice there is no tube taped to her face. We are so thankful that it has been removed and many prayers have been answered. Now please direct your prayers for the following: That her throat and airway would relax as they adjust to not having the ventilator tube (she is more used to having it in than it being out right now), that she would begin taking frequent deep breaths, that her Oxygen saturation levels (the amount of oxygen being carried in her blood) would increase to normal levels, that she would remain calm and relaxed as her body adjusts to the new changes, that her blood pressure would remain low, and that her heart would remain calm and not become stressed in the her new condition. Tabitha and I began to realize this last night that we wanted her off the ventilator, but now it is a little scary because we are entering the unknown, the machine is no longer regulating her vitals. I guess the truth is God is the real ventilator and he is with her now just as much as before. We pray for wisdom and awareness for the doctors and nurses as they monitor her condition. We will keep you updated as she progresses. As far as us right now, we are doing well, Tabitha has recovered remarkably from delivery since the moment she gave birth. Prayers for us should be for encouragement, strength, faith, and peace. Following Jackson's death everything is a little scarier and we are on edge and nervous. Thanks for all your prayers.

Hi Tabitha and Kevin,
You and your precious child are in our family's prayers. God has every hair on our heads numbered, so He is the Great Ventilator. I really appreciate your blog. It is informative and God is constantly getting the glory!
Much love and prayers,

Thanks for the update on Taylor. Can't wait to see the pictures. You two are amazing and I know what a strain this has been for you but God is in control and everything is going to be just fine. Tabitha don't forget the scripture verse I gave you. When I saw the update today the tears came to my eyes and that scripture verse came immediately. We'll share it together.
Take care and give Taylor a little hug and kiss from Great Grandpa and Grandma Smith.
