2012 Airshow

Image
Tabitha kicked me out of the house to host a bridal shower for Amanda and I took Hailey with me to join a couple hundred thousand people watching airplanes at the 2012 JBLM Airshow.  Hailey got behind the controls of a Chinook Helicopter, C-17, KC-135 (pictured), & KC-10 (above).  Here she is looking out the back of the KC-135, ready to refuel another plane.  Not to offend those in the airforce, but the Patriot jet team is a little more kid friendly with their colored smoke and they are much quieter flying by.  She even found a plane just her size. We even got to see fly-bys by a B-52 and Stealth (pictured) bomber.

Happy 1st Birthday Kiley! I'm getting a little behind on my blog posts because I've been posting pictures on Facebook which I don't normally do. If you'd like to see more of this fun-filled day at the lake check out my photo album on my Facebook page. We celebrated our neice's 1st birthday at 5 Mile Lake. The day was absolutely gorgeous! It was a perfect day for an outdoor party. Kiley seemed to enjoy the party, cake, gifts, attention and all! Great party Shawn and Ashley! We love you Kiley (and Zachariah ;)  Super cute Hawaiian cake with water, sand, flowers, etc.  Grandma and her two youngest grandkids  Daddy and Kiley The family opening gifts
Micah LOVES balls (hence the sports themed birthday party). He especially loves baseball right now. He has the cutest little tee, bat, and ball set. He's been able to throw for quite some time, but after a quick tutorial with Daddy he learned how to hit it off the tee. This is now his favorite activity to do all day.

Vacation Bible School Thanks to Bethany Baptist Church Taylor had her first VBS experience. Sadly Hailey was not old enough this year, but she has next year to look forward to. There was an aviation theme and about 400 kids 4yrs-6th grade.  The finale musical performance for the parents.  Taylor sat with 1st grade B  The kids were encouraged to bring in an offering to help support a missionary group in Asia that flies supplies around, the airplane is nick-named Charlie Brown. The friendly competition was girls vs. boys with 2 leaders per side. In the end the boys won and the 2 leaders that were with the girls got pies in the face. The kids LOVED this competition! Altogether they raised an impressive $1400! There was a celebration party on Friday with bouncy houses, face painting, and sno-cones. Here's Hailey, Emily, Taylor, and Wyatt with their lime sno cones.

Our Walker I believe I posted earlier that Micah's 1st steps were on May 15th. Although he is still perfecting the art of walking he does a pretty good job getting around.
