July 26, 2008 - Party Time Today we celebrated Taylor's 2nd Birthday Her actual birthday is still a week away, but that didn't stop us from going "Under the Sea" and partying with The Little Mermaid "Cheese" - Prior to the party Taylor was insisting there be party hats, but a Birthday Girl crown did the trick So Many wonderful gifts - (Thanks Everyone!) Yet Taylor was just as interested (if not more so) in placing each piece of wrapping paper she removed neatly on the ground behind her Several cupcakes came together to form a beautiful Ariel Cake And the practicing proved beneficial as Taylor successfully blew out both her candles (eventually...) When it was time to eat her cupcake - No practice was needed We spent the rest of the evening enjoying her new toys. She tried to put to use as many as possible and it was quite the struggle to remove the Cindrella costume when it was time to go to bed.

Baby Shower My sisters threw me a baby shower to celebrate baby #2 this past Saturday. It was a great shower! Thanks Amanda and Ashley for everything! My belly and the delicious cake! The game we played - We had to fold and pin on cloth diapers to teddy bears and whoever did it the fastest won. Only a select few had ever used cloth diapers so it was entertaining to watch us try and figure this process out. We were blessed with many adorable gifts.

Sea World Well, vacation is now over and we are safe and sound back at home. I thought I'd post pictures of our last major stop in California, Sea World! We had a blast, of course! Sea World just opened their Sesame Street Bay of Play area. Taylor and Kevin had lots of fun on the rides together. I know it looks like the dolphin is biting her, but no worries Taylor did not get harmed. She loved petting and feeding the dolphins again.

We took Taylor over to the hotel to explore. We saw lots of birds, flamingos, and went on a boat ride. The 4th of July is Shirley's birthday. So, we went into the L.A. area with them to celebrate at her parents house. This is Taylor and Emily playing together. Aren't they cute? They even happened to be wearing the same dress that day. Saturday night was our last night in Palm Desert and the resort happened to be showing Finding Nemo at the pool. We thought it sounded like fun and it definitely was a great way to spend the evening! This is from today. We took the scenic route out of town to San Diego. Here we are overlooking the Coachella Valley. Now we're relaxing in much COOLER temperatures and ready for our day at Sea World tomorrow!

Soak City Waterpark Yesterday we went to Soak City waterpark in Palm Springs to cool ourselves down. I believe it was 115 degrees yesterday. Looking at the newspaper we've discovered we're in the hottest part of the world! Despite that fact we are having a great time relaxing here. Anyway, the waterpark was so much fun! Taylor loved the slides, wave pool, lazy river, etc. Taylor going down her first waterslide She LOVED it! This is Taylor crying. She was very upset she had to wait in line to go down the slide again.

Vacation! We're officially on vacation! We left this last Friday in the truck for our journey South. Marilyn, Kevin's mom, rode along for half the ride and Taylor enjoyed the extra company in the back very much! We dropped Marilyn off in the Sacramento area and continued south to Palm Springs (Palm Desert). It is definitely HOT down here! Yesterday was 110 degrees and that's the expected temperature for the week. Kevin played 18 holes of golf in that weather yesterday and had a great time (crazy man!). Taylor LOVES the pool and has been very excited that her friend Emily is here to play with! The first words she said when she woke up this morning was "put shoes on and go swimming with Emily!" I'm surviving the heat by staying in the air conditioning as much as possible! =) Being in the pool felt pretty good to me too.
