Taylor Time

Taylor's first sucker - YUM YUM! At the top of the chair lift Taylor's first chair lift ride Yesterday we packed up the kids and went for an adventure at the Sundance ski area. Taylor got to take her first chair lift ride, I was a little nervous because Taylor can be rather squirmy, but she did great. Coming down was the "scariest" part, but as you guessed it we all survived. The top of the lift was 7, 150 ft. a little under a 1000 feet higher than yesterdays adventure.

Taylor admiring the view Yeah! We made it to the top! Inside the caves Taylor has now been to 7 states. Not too shabby for being only 9 (almost 10) months old! We arrived in Provo, UT Monday morning. We had the opporotunity to "swing" by Utah on our way home from Palm Desert so we siezed it. We're staying with the fabulous Fuchs family who we hadn't seen in about 3 years. We got to meet their latest addition to their family, baby number 5, and they got to meet ours. You should see Taylor here, she LOVES all the kids. She has been the happiest, most content baby since we arrived. I think she's hinting at some brothers and sisters! =) Today we went on the greatest adventure. We all (save for Nate who was working) went on a 1.5 mile hike to the Timpanogos Caves. It was only 1.5 miles but we climbed 1100 feet. We took Taylor to the Marriott hotel today to explore. Here we are with the flamingos. Taylor in the atrium. Taylor checking out one of the many birds around the hotel. As you can see Taylor is doing much better and we haven't suffered any ill effects yet. She did not throw up again after the IV so she still hasn't gotten Daddy! Taylor has enjoyed the pool (we will get some pictures in there eventually) and learned how to jump in this evening - with a little assistance.

This is how Taylor's day started. A typical ordinary day. Taylor's day ended with two new battle wounds to brag about! Poor Taylor! =( We spent the evening at the doctor's office with Taylor. We decided to take her in because she was vomiting and not keeping ANYTHING down plus she was very lethargic and was running a 101.4 degree fever. Turns out she has a stomach virus. The virus was causing nausea, the nausea made her throw up, throwing up causes dehydration, and dehydration often makes you throw up - kind of a vicious cycle! So the doctor suggested giving her some fluids via I.V. to try to stop the cycle and rehydrate her. Poor Taylor had to have an I.V. put in and unfortunately the nurse didn't get it right the first time (as is often the case with babies) so they had to poke her twice. Daddy and Taylor crashed as soon as we unpacked Mommy and Taylor on our balcony at the Marriott in Palm Desert 5/14/07 - We arrived in Palm Desert yesterday afternoon after 18 hours in the car. Taylor did a great job! We left Salem, OR at 7pm Saturday evening and drove through the night while Taylor slept. Kevin had to drop off some items in the L.A. area yesterday morning then we finished up our last stretch to Palm Springs arriving at about 3pm. Kevin and I were pretty tired, but I think it was a perfect way to travel that distance with a 9 month old. P. S. Taylor had her 9 month check up. She weighs 18lbs 6oz and is 29 inches long.

TAYLOR NEWS: Two days ago I laid Taylor down for a nap which she wasn't thrilled about. While I was folding laundry in the room next to hers I heard a VERY LOUD thump. I immediately knew that Taylor had climbed out of her crib and had a heart attack. I quickly ran into her room and sure enough she was lying on the floor screaming. She quickly recovered and seemed to be pleased that she was no longer in her crib which was obviously her goal. Needless to say we lowered her crib to its lowest position (we had already lowered it but clearly not low enough). Hopefully our little monkey won't be able to manuver her way out again. Taylor and I discovered today that she knows how to drink out of a straw. We also discovered that she's a Starbucks lover - that's my girl!

My friend, Jackie, just tagged me with a "random 7" post so I'm supposed to think about seven random things in my life and share them with you.... Jackie I normally wouldn't be up to the challenge of this assignment, but I want to show you the love! These things stress me out because I try to think of the perfect answers, but there aren't any, ughhh! =) I was always the teacher's pet! I especially liked my kindergarten teacher, my first grade teacher, and my fifth grade teacher. I enjoyed these women so much that I kept in touch with them for several years via mail. I was looking back through a book that my mom kept about each of us girls and one of the questions we were asked every year starting in kindergarten was what would you like to be when you grow up and my consistent answer was a mom. Funny thing is I don't remember saying that at all. I do remember around the 9th grade knowing, without a doubt, that I wanted to get married and be a stay at home m...

5/07/07 - What a beautiful day today was! We thought we'd share some photos of our evening stroll with you all. We walked around Chambers Creek trail and scoped out the new golf course opening in June. It is a "links" style golf course right on the water front in University Place. 5/3/07 - Today is Taylor's 9 month birthday! Wow, time has FLOWN by! Our daughter is such an amazing gift. We are so thankful that God entrusted us with His incredible creation. Look closely you can see all three of my teeth. My fourth should be cutting through any day now! Taylor has officially become a "crawler." She's been working at this skill for 2 whole months! She went backwards first, then decided just to roll around, then she made some forward progress here and there but it never really seemed to sink in, but today she has been crawling all over the place! In fact, Taylor greeted daddy by crawling over to him when he walked in the door from work, it put quite the smile on his face! Here are some pictures attempting to capture Taylor hard at work.
