Taylor Time

Taylor's Christmas Program Taylor's preschool class performing. The 4 year olds sang Silent Night , O Little Town of Bethlehem , and Away in a Manger . They also quoted Luke 2:13-14. They were absolutely adorable! They learned motions/sign language to all the songs.

25 Days of Christmas A favorite family tradition of many of my MOPS friends is called the 25 Days of Christmas. Each day you plan a family activity, outing, craft, etc. I filled 25 envelopes (shown below) and the girls get to open 1 each morning. So far the girls have really enjoyed this and look forward to what the envelope holds for the day. Some are more "extravagant" than others, but the girls just enjoy the surprise. Since Kevin is out of work I have tried to keep everything free or as cheap as possible. So far things on our list have included: decorating the Christmas tree, checking out Christmas books from the library, going to Seattle for a caroling competition, the Living Nativity, decorating a gingerbread house, a green and red dinner, and much more is to come. Hunter's Tree Farm The weekend after Thanksgiving we went with Brian and Susanne to find Christmas trees. This year we went to a tree farm in Olympia. It was a big farm with animals (reindeer, goats, donkeys, etc), Santa Claus and more. The girls LOVED running between the trees and hiding between the trees; Hailey played a lot of peek-a-boo! The girls are much more likely to pose and potentially look at the camera if I ask them to do a silly face rather than a smile, go figure. =) Taylor loved the manager scene. She had to say hi to baby Jesus!

SNOW! These pictures are a little deceiving, we got a lot more snow than shown here. About 2 hours after these pictures were taken the blizzard hit and replenished our yard and streets. Our neighbor joined in the snow fun. Taylor LOVED making and throwing snowballs. Hailey just LOVED the snow! Thanks Mr. Kevin (and Daddy Kevin) for helping with the snowman! The pretty princesses! This picture is a little out of place in this post, but I thought it was too cute to leave out. Our neighbor girl came over to play with Taylor a couple days ago. Happy Halloween! We made a couple of trips to the pumpkin patch this year. Our first was with Carter (and family). Taylor also had her very first field trip to Spooner Farms. Riding the school bus to the farm was just as exciting, if not more exciting than the field trip itself, in fact she was bummed to ride home with us instead of taking the school bus back. Pumpkin carving! This year Taylor requested "scary" pumpkins. Hailey is in a swim suit phase. =) Actually she has moved on to ballerina/gymnast attire, all the time! Sorry No Pictures - but before everyone loses interest I thought I'd post and let you know they are coming soon. Pregnancy has slowed up Tabitha as she is more convinced than ever that she is never doing this again:), but we have still managed to tackle the typical harvest/Halloween activities and have some happier moments to share as well. In the meantime you can vote for the gender of the new coming baby (Thorn in Tabitha's side), I hope we only have more than 8 readers, and follow the daily update on what the little one is up to each day.

Announcing.... Baby #3 coming May 24, 2011! After 9-12 months of trying we are very excited to make this announcement! We thought about putting #3 on hold when we learned that Kevin will no longer have a job come the end of the year, but knowing God is sovereign we had faith that He knew what was best for our family not us. When we discovered I was pregnant I just laughed and said God definitely has a sense of humor! We praise you Lord and believe you are our provider and are in control of all things! We happily and thankfully await the arrival of our new little joy! So will it be a girl? Or a boy?

Taylor has had several firsts over these past few weeks. We've been slow to get them on the blog but better late than never! First day of Preschool Taylor is attending Cascade Christian's 4 year old preschool in Puyallup. She absolutely loves it! She goes Wed, Thur, Fri from 8:40-11:10. Everyday one of the students gets to be the class Superstar. Taylor's turn is coming up this Thursday and she is so excited. She gets to sit in a special chair, be line leader, place items on the calendar, bring in show and tell, bring the snack for the day and more. Taylor and her teacher Tractor Pull Taylor participated in her first tractor pull at the Puyallup Fair. Although it was quite challenging for her she still had a blast. Mutton Bustin! Kevin has been talking about Taylor going Mutton Bustin for a couple of years now. This year I felt Taylor could really comprehend what she was getting herself in to if she chose to ride a sheep. Hailey is TWO! September 1st was Hailey's second birthday! She had a joint party with her cousin Zachariah who turned 4 on August 31st. We had a great time celebrating Hailey and Zachariah. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us and a special thanks to you grandparents for helping with food! =) The birthday girl anxiously awaiting party time. New shoes! Hailey LOVES shoes! She has finally made her way up the charts, well a little bit, she now weighs 24 lb 6oz (20th percentile), and she is 2' 10" tall (56th percentile).
