Taylor Time

Restoration/Reconciliation Being a first time home owner I am trying, trying REAL hard, to develop an interest in gardening. Those of you who know me well, know that I have a brown thumb and kill any plant/flower I look at despite my internal love and appreciate for their beauty. At the very least, I'd like to keep what is growing out there alive and healthy. As Kevin and I were working up a sweat, instead of being annoyed at the labor it can require I began to see what a rewarding job weeding and yard work can be. Restoring something to the way it was intended. Restoring beauty in God's creation. This restoration image was a great reminder for me, of the life of reconciliation believers are called to live. Seabrook This past weekend we vacationed with our missional community (like a small group) in the Seabrook community near Ocean Shores, WA. We had a blast! There were 18 of us (including the little ones). Our house which included the carriage house out back and a hot tub. We rode bicycles. The girls LOVED this! This is Taylor and her friend Anika. They were inseperable this weekend. During the day we turned the hot tub down and the girls enjoyed their "swimming pool." They also had a great time playing in the ocean and in the sand. They weren't picky on water temperature! Hailey got to go in the hot tub too! This was her first time in a swimming suit. We played horse shoes and shuffle board.

On the move! Hailey officially became a crawler on Mother's Day. She is one busy bee!!! She loves to go where she shouldn't and do things she shouldn't. She crawled under this chair and thought it was hilarious so Taylor joined in. Then, of course, she can't get out and the fun is over! Not long after I took this picture Hailey was eating in her high chair. I turned around for just a moment and looked back to find Hailey standing up facing the other direction.... my hands are full around here! =) She also loves the stairs and outlets/cords.

In Loving Memory of Apadempshua I did not get around to making this post quick enough - I should've known better... I can't seem to keep fish alive in this house. Although, Taylor's 2nd fish did live twice as long as her first so I guess that's something. About 2 weeks ago our neighbor gave Taylor a Beta. Taylor wanted to name her Apadempshua. That's right, Apadempshua! That's what she said from day one and repeated it exactly the same every time. We were very impressed with her creative name. So, Taylor enjoyed her pet fish for two weeks and now it's time to say goodbye. We loved you Apadempshua Um... something's not right here.

So Close... Hailey is 8 months old now! She is so close to crawling. She gets up on all 4s and rocks and rocks and tries sooo hard. Yesterday and today she made some forward progress, but not enough to count as a crawler, yet. Maybe tomorrow. Hailey can also go from laying to sitting all by herself! She does it with ease and often uses it as a way to maneuver herself since she doesn't have the crawling thing down yet.
