Taylor Time

The weather was warm enough for us to break out the sprinkler for the first time this year. In fact, this is Hailey's first experience with a sprinkler. In other exciting water news, we signed Taylor up for swimming lessons. She will be in the Guppy class. Classes start in May - we can't wait!

We had the opportunity to visit Six Flags Marine World again this weekend, made our season passes more than pay for themselves, and came one visit closer to making our season parking a worthwhile investment. One of the great things about this park is that it is a little of everything - zoo, seaworld, amusement park - everything you need to keep you entertained. Now Tabitha and Taylor have gotten their shot at one. Most of the kids rides do not have minimum height requirements so Hailey gets to ride along as well. Between our last visit and this one I think Taylor has grown a little and since we paid attention to what shoes she was wearing she hit the 42" threshold and got to experience some of the adult rides for the first time. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Here are some miscellaneous photos that have been collecting on our memory card: We have these beautiful flowers in our front yard in CA. They are purple on the under-side and white/light purple on top. They open and close depending on sunlight so we get to see both sides often. Anyway, the girls love to pick these flowers. Isn't this 100% adorable? Hailey also enjoys smelling them. =) Taylor received Finger Paints from Grandma Debbie and Jeff in her Easter basket (mommy approved =). She wasn't too sure about them at first. When I first asked her if she wanted to try them out she responded, "no mom I don't want to get my hands all dirty!" Late, late, late! I'm finally posting a few pictures from our Easter weekend. I was a terrible mom and didn't take any pictures on Easter Sunday so luckily my mom shared a few of hers! Thanks Mom! Hailey's adorable Easter dress! Taylor looking so grown up in her elegant Easter gown. =) Taylor and Mom took care of egg decorating this year. We had a great time painting together. I definitely think this is the way to "dye" Easter eggs with kids this age, rather than "dipping" them in dye (inevitably the eggs get dropped or the kids lose interest rather quickly). We did a couple of egg hunts this year. Our first one was at Calvary Baptist in Tacoma (Ken and Marilyn's church) the weekend before Easter. Hailey caught on fast and loved every second. April Fools! For the past couple of years I have been inspired by my friend Jackie and her April Fools pranks on her family. I'm not sure when she started her April fool's pranks with her food, but this year I decided I would have a go at it. Thanks for the great ideas Jackie! Hailey thoroughly enjoyed her April Fools dinner, especially the Jello! Early in the day I explained April Fools Day to Taylor. She kinda of got it and she had fun thinking of a prank to play on Daddy. So when dinner rolled around it was my turn to play a joke on her. I started by offering her orange juice, she was thrilled because we don't have juice very often. She was quite confused when she went to take a drink and nothing would come out of the straw (because it was Jello). When I said, "APRIL FOOLS!" she got a big smile on her face and remembered our earlier conversation. This joke was easy for her to brush off.
