"To swim or not to swim?" that was Hailey's question. Taylor LOVES the water, as most of you know. She was so excited to visit our old gym and take a swim in their pool. She enjoys wearing her life jacket so she can venture out into deeper waters. Hailey, on the other hand, is quite scared of the water. Taking a bath is stressful for Hailey. I think swim lessons would be torture to her. It was fun to take her to this pool because of the zero entry feature, but she never fully relaxed and enjoyed her time. This is where Hailey lived, as shallow as you can get! =)
How do you look at God? I am currently doing a Beth Moore study that is taking us through the Psalms of Ascent (Psalm 120-134). Today we reflected on who God is and how we really look at him. Here is a quote that Beth shared regarding this issue: "We are not presented with a functional god who will help us out of jams or an entertainment god who will lighten our tedious hours. We are presented with the God of exodus and Easter, the God of Sinai and Calvary. If we want to understand God, we must do it on his terms. If we want to see God the way he really is, we must look to the place of authority - to Scripture and to Jesus Christ. And do we really want it any other way? I don't think so. We would very soon become contemptuous of a god whom we could figure out like a puzzle or learn to use like a tool. No, if God is worth our attention at all, he must be a God we can look up to - a God we must look up to... The moment we look up to God (and not over at him, or down on him) we a...

Tea for a Princess Taylor asked for a tea party with tea and cookies. I thought that sounded like a great rainy day activity so here is our tea for 2 (Hailey sat in her high-chair drinking milk and eating cookies). Taylor dressed up as a princess. I often talk to Taylor about how she is a true Princess it isn't just make-believe. We talk about how she (and Mommy and Hailey) is the daughter of the King. John 1:12 says, "But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God." It is our heart's deepest desire for Taylor, Hailey and everyone else to believe and accept Christ, to become a child of God our King. The fun tea set we used for our party (thanks Ken and Marilyn). Taylor has a new passion, painting! She LOVES it, look at the way she's looking at the page she is working on! She's only allowed to do it while Hailey is sleeping and she can't wait for those times.

The 12 Days of Christmas Continued... At least that's what it felt like. We actually took part in 7 Christmas celebrations and loved every one. The girls were a little worn out by the end, but did great overall. Christmas Eve Brunch Every year we do a brunch at the Moberg's with Marilyn's side of the family. Roy Mesler, Bev Mesler (Marilyn's sister), Marilyn Moberg, Ken Moberg The kids playing together before breakfast. Hailey playing peek-a-boo with her new book she opened. She thought this was hilarious and so did we! Christmas Eve Night For as long as I can remember Christmas Eve has been celebrated with the Florek family. Here we are in Olympia with the extended Florek family. We had a fun evening of sorting through many, many family photographs and momentos, eating, playing pool, chasing the kids around, and opening gifts. Taylor, Great-Grandma Pat Florek, Hailey Here's half of the room. Hailey loved this gift! This was her true reaction to the gift not a ...
