She's a Survivor!

Well, as football season is winding down I thought I would take a minute to brag about Tabitha. For the past couple seasons I have participated in and then dragged Tabitha into a couple NFL survivor contests. The challenge is to simply pick a NFL team to win each week, but after you use a team once you can't use them again the rest of the season (Easier said then done as myself and thousands of others were out in the first 6 weeks). Tabitha made it made it to week 13 in two separate contests. In one she "only" finished 198th, but  out of 14,022 that put her into the top 1 1/2 percent of entrants and winning would have gotten us a trip to the Superbowl. In the other contest through a local business with 539 contestants she was done in by the Lions who lost with no time on the clock, but came in 2nd place. Here is the website release: Congratulations to our official second place winner: Tab! With a ten week winning streak, Tab comes in just ahead of our third place winn...

MEXICO! This is our final post from our Disneyland/Mexico trip. Here w e are entering Mexico, on our way to see Brian, Susanne, Elliott, and Selah . We had a wonderful time in Rosarito. One of the bigg est priorities to Taylor was to try to visit Wendi, one o f the girls we helped build a house for back in March. We dropped in on the family and they were thrilled to see all of us again. They invited us back for an authentic Mexican meal . Of course we accepted their invitation and they made us a delicious meal of empanadas . Unfortu nately I forgot to bring my camer a a long so I don't have any pictures of our time toget her. Here a re some photos of the rest of our time in Mexico.    This is the entrance to Brian and Susanne's neighborhood.  The house in the middle of the picture is the house they have been renting and where we stayed. Brian and Susanne are actually in the process of moving to a house closer to the YWAM base right n...

A Christmas Gift   When my dad and Laura heard we were headed to Disneyland they thought of a great early Christmas gift for the kids ; t hey wanted us to take the kids to dinner with the princesses ! The girls were delighted and couldn't wait for t he experience. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Ariel's Grotto in California A dventure. The meal was a fun mixture of fine dining and a kid friendly atmospher e. We were guaranteed quality time with the following princess es: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Snow White, and Cinderella.  Taylor was concerned about having princesses hair. I offered this "do" and she was pleased. Taylor was especially happy when Snow White noticed and complimented her hair.  We were greeted by Ariel as we entered the restaurant.  We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the view of the pier, decorations, and lights. Throughout dinner they would announce princesses and then they would travel table to table to mingle with the kids. ...

WEE! Look for the little hands - Micah and the girls (teacup behind) enjoyed a spin on the teacups. Christmas Disney Style    We even found Santa - Both girls requested mermaid tails that work in water. A desire that began watching the show H2O: Just add water with Amanda and Jonah and has grown significantly after meeting a girl at the pool here who was in fact a mermaid swimming around the pool, tail and all.On behalf of Micah, they requested a race car, but not a real one, a toy one.  After watching Santa Clause: 2 the girls were just as excited to meet Mrs. Claus I Other characters and activities at the Jingle, Jangle Jamboree included Christmas crafts, Reindeer games, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and other animals. Rumor has it we can also find the presidential pardoned turkeys there too, but we forgot to look for them.   Perhaps the day's biggest accomplishment, Hailey's reindeer mask- colored while waiti...

Today's Highlights We had another great day at California Adventure . Today we got to meet up with our friends and the kids loved every second together.  Bug's Land - And break - yesterday it was dancing tractors, today it was dancing ladybugs. No Parents! Sisters - 1st ride all by themselves!                                                                                                    So far we've had little enough whining and enough cuteness to keep others in the lines entertained and smiling. Mad Tea Party We meet up with the Casey's today and got to watch a movie explaining the hard work elves go through he...

Family Vacation We are thrilled to be in California! Some of you may remember our Disneyland/Mexico 9 months ago. Well, we couldn't wait to hop in the car and drive for 2 days again! Actually we had several reasons that made this trip irresistible. First off, we have a new niece to meet! In about a week we will continue south to meet Selah and hang out with the rest of the Moberg clan. Next, the Casey's were taking their annual Cali trip and the kids LOVED the idea of a Disneyland play date. And finally, we literally could not afford to not go on this trip. ; ) Ken and Marilyn bought us season passes last Christmas so we had to take advantage of the time left. I have a feeling we are going to have countless adorable pictures so stay tuned for more.    We drove in to town and went straight to the gates of California Adventure. Taylor earned the honor of picking of first ride which was Ariel (not pictured). We also HAD to check out Cars Land, a brand new area to this...
