Taylor Time

Seven Years! One boy One girl " Two hearts beating wildly -to put it mildly it's still love at first sight!" On May 24th we celebrated our seven year wedding anniversary. In March we also celebrated a huge milestone in our relationship - we have finally been married longer than we dated. It has now been over 14 years since we first met at Camp Tapawingo.

San Francisco After being in Santa Cruz for almost 4 months we finally made it to San Francisco. We parked at a BART station and took the BART to Union Square. I think the train ride was one of the hits of the day, both girls were very entertained by this activity. From Union Square we jumped on a cable car. As you can watch in the video below the cable car was a hit too. Alcatraz in the background. We got off in China Town. We started our exploration at the gate (pictured above) then on to a kite store, a fortune cookie factory, and other various stops. After China Town we walked through North Beach (waved to Caffe Grecco - we would've stopped, but the girls were not at their best behavior during this phase =). From North Beach we walked to Pier 39. We saw the sea lions, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and ate some lunch. We walked through Fisherman's Wharf and ended with a heavenly piece of chocolate at Ghirardelli Square. Now some pictures of us hanging out WITH the family while they were in town - We (along with everyone else it appeared) decided to go to Six Flags for Mother's Day and take advantage of a couple of free passes they had given Season Ticket holders. Taylor enjoyed helping mommy squish Aunt Angela A roller coaster with Grandma The next day we braved some showers and explored the Redwood Forest with Grandpa and company via a Steam Train out of the Roaring Railroad Camp in Felton, CA. Our girls seem so tiny admist the trees Several other outings took place during their visit as well (the beach, the boardwalk, Happy Hallow zoo, Gayle's Bakery, etc.). It was wonderful to have visitors! A touch of home was needed and enjoyed! Thank you for coming to visit guys!

Ken, Marilyn, and Angela came into town last week so what do you think we did - that's right, we bailed and tapped back into our free family babysitters and escaped for an little alone time :). Well, maybe that's a little harsh, but we did take the opportunity to slip away for a kid free night. We started by wandering through the streets in Carmel-by-the-Sea and wound all the way down to the beautiful beach - it gave us a hint of the Caribbean, white sand, teal water, but a little cool with the breeze. Up on the cliffs we could see a couple holes of the Pebble Beach Golf Course, preparing for the US Open next month. We walked back up the hill into town and tasted some wine (our taste buds weren't very impressed) and then headed into Monterey. We didn't go to the aquarium, but we enjoyed a good breakfast and walked through all the shops on Cannery Row before heading back to Santa Cruz to connect with the family. Taylor's a Guppy! Swimming lessons began on Tuesday. Taylor had a great time and can't wait to go back tomorrow. This is a picture of her with her teacher, Chad. There is one other little girl in her class as well. Taylor is learning the crawl stroke, or how to "scoop the ice cream." She chose to swim in strawberry ice cream. =) 1-2-3 Jump in the water! Taylor is learning to jump feet first. Their adventurous ride on this board brought about the most smiles of the morning. Hailey enjoyed splashing around while waiting for Taylor.
