Taylor Time

MOPS The girls and I attend MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) 2x a month. At our last meeting we had a lady share the Gospel with us, as well as part of her story, and some trials she has gone through. She shared a poem which I thought I would post as encouragement to others. The speaker shared she felt she was continually waiting on God to make his move (she desires to have children), but this poem (and other events) helped her see God was actually waiting on her. To draw close to Him and rest. Cast all her cares on Him and not miss out on a relationship with him in the midst of her trials. The poem is a little long, but I encourage you to take the time to read the entire thing! BTW- I don't know who the author is. Information Request: I have a friend who is very interested and applying for an admissions position at UPS and well I don't have email addresses for everyone I believe many fellow alums check out our blog every now and again so I thought I'd put this out there. I was curious if anyone had connections/resources with someone in HR or admissions at UPS that might be used in order to aid this career pursuit. If so I'd love to hear them and be able to pass them on. Thanks

Our Sleeping Beauty This is how Hailey likes to sleep and it stresses me out! Can she breath? Apparently she can, but it still stresses me out! As soon as I lay her in her crib she rolls to the side, grabs her bumper and snuggles into it. Often times she'll pull the bumper down and use it like a pillow. When Taylor was little I saw this contraption and thought what a waste of money, why would you want to hassle with one of those? Well, along came Hailey and now I LOVE these things and Taylor probably would've benefited from it as well. It's especially great because Hailey doesn't want baby food, she wants whatever we're eating. As a first time mom, grown up food wasn't an option for Taylor, as a seasoned mother now... I bend the "rules" more often. =) This is a picture of Hailey enjoying a piece of pineapple. PUGGLES! Today Calvary Baptist had an AWANA recognition time during their church service. Taylor is in a class for 2 year olds called Puggles. She LOVES Puggles. This was Taylor's first performance in front of a large audience. They sang and did motions to two songs. She was adorable! Typically there are 4 kids in her class, but one was out of town this morning. I thought this was so cute... I remember being in grade school and holding my friend's (Nina) hand too. I've noticed Taylor has started doing this with a couple of her girl friends and I find it to be so sweet! Mrs. Smith, puggles, and Mrs. Moberg waiting to perform! Now in all fairness Taylor was much more animated in the second song they sang, but I missed it! The second song was their puggles song that she loves to do the motions and sing to.

Pancake Feed This morning we took Taylor to the f ire station for a pancake feed. We had a great time. I remember going to several of these when I was a little girl cause my Daddy was a volunteer firefighter. Kevin also remembers his family going when he was little so we thought we'd carry on the tradition. Uncle Brian, Taylor, Daddy - chow time! Hailey thought driving was the best thing ever! She squealed with delight. Taylor got her first bicycle helmet. Safety first! This was Taylor's favorite activity, putting out the fire! Second favorite, driving the truck!

Taylor finally has enough hair for me to try and do something with it. Here's her first French braid. Her hair is so fine it didn't hold the best, but oh well! The last thing Hailey wants to do these days is sit down. She wants to stand or walk or be in the middle of whatever is going on. Look at how strong Hailey is! Hailey also pulled herself up on the play kitchen earlier today. I'm thinking she may skip the crawling thing altogether and go straight to walking (however she is making great effort to learn to crawl too - she is one determined girl who perseveres until she gets what she wants). Hailey repeatedly pulled herself up on the chair. Later she just did pull ups and literally hung out.

Egg Hunt #2 After our church gathering Easter morning, we traveled down to Centralia for Easter dinner, and egg hunt number 2! Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Smith put on the best egg hunt every year! Hailey's ready with her basket (Thanks Aunt Amanda for the cute personalized basket!!!). Hailey didn't care one bit about the money she was just excited to have something to chew on! Taylor was so fun to watch this year. She did a great job finding the eggs on her own. Decorating Eggs We had a great time decorating eggs this afternoon. Egg Hunt #1 Today, Saturday, we took Taylor to an Easter egg hunt at Calvary Baptist Church (Grandpa and Grandma Moberg's church). Taylor scored a lot of candy, maybe more than she got on Halloween! Hailey had a blast watching the kids run and find eggs.

It's yours! On this Good Friday I hope you have all taken time to reflect on what Christ did for us on the cross. The pain that He bore... His broken body, His blood shed for us! He died to save us. He descended into the pit of hell and experienced separation from the Father so we don't have to. He didn't have to do any of it, but He did because He loves us. Those who believe in Him will have eternal life. I can't wait to celebrate the resurrection of our Messiah on Sunday! Thank you Jesus for submitting to the will of the Father.

Our little helper Taylor loves to help her little sister. She can get Hailey to eat her peas, I failed at that! =) We've taught Taylor her first memory verse with the reference and all. "Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." Ephesians 6:1

Keeping Busy! Kevin has been out of town for a week, on business, and we still have a couple of days to go. I've been trying to keep myself and the girls busy. This post contains some of the things we've been up to. Today Taylor and I spent a special day together at her friend Eli's 3rd birthday party. Thank you to Grandma Debbie for babysitting Hailey so we could have some quality one on one time! We went to the Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie, WA. We had a great time! Here we are in our private train car. We ate and opened gifts in here. They also had Thomas train sets out for the kids to play with. We also got to take a real train ride to Snoqualmie Falls and back. Taylor LOVED this portion of our trip. Our little conductor! The Daffodil Parade Saturday we went to Tacoma's Daffodil Parade. We were blessed with sunshine for a change! Taylor's flower balloon was one of her favorite things from the day. She also enjoyed the bounce toy, playing in the toddler ...
