8/19/06 - Another first, Taylor's first outfit of ours. Of course she spit up on it 5 minutes later and we went back to swaddling her in the blankets supplied by the hospital. Ruin their stuff not ours. Tabitha also wants to assure everyone that she holds Taylor too. I guess she is a better photographer; the pictures she takes of me are much better than the ones I take of her.

Good afternoon! We apologize for our lack of blog entries but these days "free time" is non-exsistant. We are constantly preparing feedings, feeding, or cleaning up from feedings! In all honesty we've been rather stressed out and frustrated these past couple of days trying to teach Taylor how to eat. She is SLOWLY learning to breastfeed and then the majority of her feeding is finished thru her NG tube (the feeding tube through her nose into her stomach). Yesterday after receiving 8-10 feedings at 80cc (3 oz) she started vomiting during or after each additional feeding. We requested to talk to a surgeon and we all decided the best thing to do is slow back down the amount. So last night we backed off to 65cc today we're at 70 and tonight we'll go back up to 75 then tomorrow morning try 80 again. So please pray for Taylor's reflux and that her little tummy will be able to tolerate a full 80 cc and that breastfeedings will increase and she'll have the endurance to do this on her own. Today we're getting lessons on how to insert her NG tube and tomorrow both Kevin and I will have to do this to poor Taylor. Another prayer request we have is for her heart. The pulmonary doctors wanted to do another ultrasound on her heart before we got discharged and the results showed continued improvement but her heart isn't completely normal yet. There is a chance she may need a little more oxygen to get her heart functioning completely normal. We are waiting for the doctors to review the results and give their recommendation. Neither the NG tube nor the oxygen would prevent us from going home they will just train us to use all the equipment so that is good news!

In other good news Taylor did get her first walk yesterday! She slept through the whole thing, but oh well! =)

Please keep our friends, the Teabo's, in your prayers as well. They have a son named Hudson here in the ICU and have been told several times in the past 24 hours to say goodbye to their son because he isn't going to make it. Miraculously he continues to recover but if he gets any sort of infection or has a minor complication he won't be able to live through it. The doctors have told them his status is really hour by hour.
