Taylor's first stroller ride

10/15/06 - Guess what Taylor did for the first time today? She rolled over! Yep at 10 weeks old she's rolling over! Luckily Kevin was here for the event, in fact, I was out of the room the first time she did it so he was the privileged one (I'm a teeny bit jealous). This last week Taylor has had a bunch of firsts. She went in her stroller for the first time, we were shopping (of course) with aunt Amanda, she's still a little small for the stroller but her neck is so strong she reclines in it pretty well. She has also started to grab and hold on to her toys. Lastly I had to break down and trim her fingernails for the first time, I did okay but it's a tricky task.

Wow! Would Nammy ever be proud to see the sweater she made you now being worn by her Great Great Granddaughter. She really looks good in red. Grandpa has that picture on our computer so often when we walk into the office that's the first smile that greets us. That's always fun. Wow! the firsts! I can hardly believe she's strong enough to do those things. Time just goes by so fast and we just don't get to see her often enough. Love that you keep us up to date through pictures and events on the blog. Thanks!!!!! I bet you and Amanda had fun on your shopping trip. Hope we get to see you guys on the 4th. Give Taylor a big love from us.

She looks as pretty in red as her mommy did. I am so glad that Kevin got to be there for the first roll-over. We continue to keep him in our prayers that the company with keep him permanently in the office so he is home for all of Taylor's firsts.

We take out the NG tube and look what happens! Before anyone gets too excited her tube was not removed for good. =( Kevin and I were trying to fix the tape that holds the tube in place and had a difficult time, to make a long story short we took the tube out and took the opportunity to snap some adorable pictures. Food update: The new formula didn't work, the first try made her vomit so we scratched that plan. Now we're back to straight breast milk and we're working on increasing her volumes again. Right now we're up to 78cc and we're moving back up to 80cc tonight. So far she is tolerating it very well. I think her tummy is ready for the 80cc it just needed more time to stretch naturally. She is also continuing to increase her oral intake. Right now she is averaging 30 cc from breastfeeding (YEAH Taylor!) last night she even took a whopping 50cc! 8/8/06 (1:00 pm) - The rollercoaster continues... Taylor had some difficulties as she tried to adjust to breathing without the ventilator. They tried a couple of different treatment options with some success and eventually the got her carbon dioxide levels to fall, but not far enough. In order to keep her condition from getting worse and her body from stressing out even more (giving things a chance to affect her heart) they put her back on the ventilator. She is resting confortably now and the stress levels for Tabitha and I have decreased substantially. The nurse assured us that even though this attempt was not successful in weaning her from the ventilator we should not view it as a failure. She will need a couple of days to recover and relax and then they will try to do it again. They learned some things about her body and reactions to the procedure that give them information on how to modify the procedure next time to increase the chances for success. 8/21/06 - Taylor had another ultrasound today to look at her liver. Her bilirubin levels had dropped but they recently noticed they are starting to go back up and they aren't sure why! Her feeding volumes are back up to 75cc - so far so good, but she always starts off good. Next feeding we are going to go back to fortifying the breast milk with a different formula to see how she tolerates that. If this plan fails our back up is to try feeding her every 2 hours with smaller quantities instead of every 3 like we're doing now. The results are just in, everything looked normal in the ultrasound. So we are just working on solving the feeding issues. Taylor loves Mommy Daddy bores Taylor
