Watching my first movie

10/08/06 - This last week was Taylor's 2 month check-up and she did great! She weighed in at 12 lbs 1 oz (82 percentile) and is 22.75 inches long (67 percentile). These numbers show a continued answer to prayer, Taylor clearly has no eating issues! She also got another round of immunizations (5 shots in her thighs) which she didn't enjoy one bit (mommy cried a little too!). Taylor also took her first trip out of state to the city of roses, that's Portland, OR. Kevin had to work this weekend and we weren't about to go two weeks without seeing him so we packed up and headed south.

Hi! Pretty cute pictures. You must have taken the one looking into a mirror. Clever! Hope you are having fun spending time with Daddy. I'm sure that's hard on all of you to not be able to be together. I'm praying that Kevin will get a job where he can be home with his family everyday. It's hard to believe Taylor is getting so big already. We are anxious to see her again (Mommy and Daddy too). It's been a long time. Won't be long until the 2 little cousins will be able to be together. We'll have to have everyone down when Ashley and Shawn get here with Zachariah. Well have a fun time and give Taylor a big love from us.

too cute!!! you are a great photographer!!! heheh love it ... cant wait until we can go on walks together thro the park and the kids can play on the toys together .. hopefully they learn how to share hehehe ... luv you all

I love the picture of Taylor in the Bjorn! Her hat is too cute! I am glad you are still updating the blog. It is fun to see the pictures (even though I see her every week :o) I still can't believe how big she is getting!

We take out the NG tube and look what happens! Before anyone gets too excited her tube was not removed for good. =( Kevin and I were trying to fix the tape that holds the tube in place and had a difficult time, to make a long story short we took the tube out and took the opportunity to snap some adorable pictures. Food update: The new formula didn't work, the first try made her vomit so we scratched that plan. Now we're back to straight breast milk and we're working on increasing her volumes again. Right now we're up to 78cc and we're moving back up to 80cc tonight. So far she is tolerating it very well. I think her tummy is ready for the 80cc it just needed more time to stretch naturally. She is also continuing to increase her oral intake. Right now she is averaging 30 cc from breastfeeding (YEAH Taylor!) last night she even took a whopping 50cc! 8/8/06 (1:00 pm) - The rollercoaster continues... Taylor had some difficulties as she tried to adjust to breathing without the ventilator. They tried a couple of different treatment options with some success and eventually the got her carbon dioxide levels to fall, but not far enough. In order to keep her condition from getting worse and her body from stressing out even more (giving things a chance to affect her heart) they put her back on the ventilator. She is resting confortably now and the stress levels for Tabitha and I have decreased substantially. The nurse assured us that even though this attempt was not successful in weaning her from the ventilator we should not view it as a failure. She will need a couple of days to recover and relax and then they will try to do it again. They learned some things about her body and reactions to the procedure that give them information on how to modify the procedure next time to increase the chances for success. 8/21/06 - Taylor had another ultrasound today to look at her liver. Her bilirubin levels had dropped but they recently noticed they are starting to go back up and they aren't sure why! Her feeding volumes are back up to 75cc - so far so good, but she always starts off good. Next feeding we are going to go back to fortifying the breast milk with a different formula to see how she tolerates that. If this plan fails our back up is to try feeding her every 2 hours with smaller quantities instead of every 3 like we're doing now. The results are just in, everything looked normal in the ultrasound. So we are just working on solving the feeding issues. Taylor loves Mommy Daddy bores Taylor
