Relocation

Well, we made it down to the Santa Cruz area yesterday, but thanks to the USPS and a lost check (next time we'll go with FedEx) we are spending a little more time in a hotel room together than originally planned. We should have a replacement check shortly and then we can begin getting settled into in our new temporary home.

With a 14 hour trip to get down here Tabitha and I were thinking that it was better to split the travel up and stop for one night so the girls weren't stuck in the car for too long, but sometime around 3 am reality set in - the driving was the easy part, trying to get both girls to sleep in one room together with us was the worst part of the entire trip. Good thing we get a couple more hotel nights here in Santa Cruz to perfect the process:) All things considered last night was pretty good and so far tonight is going even better.

I think Tabitha and I would both agree that one of the coolest parts about our departure was the manner in which we were able to arrange for our house and pets to be taken care of while we were away. Knowing that we would be gone for a while and our house need looking after and Angel and a fish needing to be fed we first thought of our neighbors - we know more than a few and were pretty sure that some combination of them could step in and fill the void, but since our cat really enjoys human interaction we contacted friends with some PLU student connections and asked if they knew of anyone who might be interested and they got back to us with a girl named Megan.

So 3 weeks ago Tabitha and her connected to chat things over and she was eager (even after seeing Tabitha's "Chore List") to move in. Long story short the whole scenario is one of those stories where you hear it and at the very least think "wow, what a coincidence...", but as believers in a Sovereign God we think you have to take it a little further than that. Was it really random chance or could an omniscient being -

know that we were going to be out of town, we wanted someone who could take care of our house and Angel, we wanted to minimize our out of pocket costs for this "service", a college student was looking for a new place to stay, the college student would willingly take room and board in exchange for those responsibilities, the room and board monies saved would allow the college student's mom to take time off work without missing the pay, the time off work was necessary for that mom to donate a kidney to someone in need, a co-workers son whom she had never met was need of a kidney, and sure enough the two were a perfect match

- simply put the pieces together.
